9,999,999 Gold[edit]
When you find the location of the lost hoard of the obelisks, the treasure includes 250,000 gold. Open and close the location or chest it's at before leaving the location and the gold will increase by 250,000 gold pieces every time. Repeat until you have 9,999,999 gold pieces.
NOTE: This trick relies on a bug in version 1.0. It will not work in version 1.1 or later.
Get Weapons, Items, etc.[edit]
Some powerful enemies drop high-level items more frequently than others. In particular, Power Liches, Dragons and Veterans will drop an item 30% of the time.¿Save your game before checking a body and restore if a valuable item doesn't come up on the search.
Tons of Experience[edit]
Go to the town of Kriegspire after doing the 9,999,999 gold trick. There is a well in town that takes 5,000 gold but gives 5,000 experience. Use that well over and over again until for each of your characters.
Free fly scroll[edit]
You can get a free fly scroll by going to the south wall of the bank in New Sorpigal. Note this relies on an error in version 3.1 or sooner
Maximum Use of Wands[edit]
Buy a wand and use it until the charge has only one left, then for the gooduse of that wand sell it afterwards. You used the wand down to it's lastcharge and you even got a great sum of gold!
Tons of Experience 2[edit]
In the Hall of the Fire Lord Quest, when you FINISH thequest (removed all the curses), return to the Fire Lord, and you canrepeatedly claim you completed the quest. Just keep clicking on 'Quest'over and over (you'll hear the Exp sound every time you click it). Keepdoing this for about 5 to 10 minutes. I did it for 5 minutes and got 14 millionexperience. You can only do this ONCE, if you click Done, you can't go back.
Free Skill Points[edit]
In New Sorpigal, go to the stables. Next to the stables there is a coveredwooden walkway. Inside the walkway there are 2 horseshoes. Use thehorseshoes on a chacater to give them 2 skill points for each.
Use the 'Shrine of the Gods' more tham once[edit]
Go to the Shine of the Gods when two or three people in your group are dead. One of the living must have a healing spell. Go to turn-based mode nearthe shrine and heal one of the dead characters and when the monsters turn
click on the shrine and you get +20 to all your stats.

DryMango: I usually just gave the clerics and sorcerers all the horseshoes I could find. fablefox: Castle Darkmoor. If I remember correctly I didn't fight much in this dungeon. I just run around casting 'pylon' spell at a safe place (corners without enemies). In a lot of 'grab the item' mission, I usually just went in for the item. Not dungeon cleansing. Only after all my characters is of high enough of a level do I return for vengeance. Hence, I even start my first dungeon at level 12, if you follow my above tips. In other words, I cleanse a dungeon when I'm more than 10 level higher than the dungeon was designed for. Well of course. Any dungeon you do ten levels above it's level range is easy.My knights never really needed them. They're usually all good to go well before the sorcerer can be anything decent. Overall, Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven is easy for RPG gamers. I'm not much of a RPG gamer, but this game was easy enough for me to pick up and beat in a couple months time. I'm sure many would agree that Castle Darkmoor is the hardest dungeon in the game. Many liches and flying eyes that constantly cast 'Dispel Magic', makes your characters less effective in combat. Having 'Hour of Power', 'Day of the Gods', and 'Day of Protection' makes a HUGE difference, and having them dispelled is more than frustrating. Tomb of VARN wasn't nearly that difficult, but it was by far the most beautiful dungeon. I also liked how it contained several references to Star Trek. I happen to be a completionist, although it bothers a lot of people I don't mind cleaning out a dungeon. Castle Darkmoor is one of the few that I skip cleaning out, because the flying eyes are more than enough for me to be pulling hairs. Played MM6 through and through long before a GOG.com, and beaten it several times without once consulting a guide. Should anybody have questions how to beat the game, don't hesitate to ask me.

There are few ways to actually finish MM6:
- easiest (but take game days) - fastest (game days) but harder - and somewhere in between. last time I tried to finish it fastest (game days). But the easiest way to save game days is to train as much as possible at one go (you can train for just one level or for ten level at the same amount of time if you do it at one go). But I also try to clean and grab treasure in between to save time and rest moment. but currently i tried to finish it as easy as possible (real life time, not game time) and I realized that by doing above mission (the letters, nomination, drink magic fountain, fix stables), you can also, after getting cash from price fixing mission, to buy fly spell. this allow you to do the winter mission. and if you train a person to be expert in disarm trap, you can also do the lord kilburn shiled in blacshire (?). where you fly over werewolves (or just outrun them towards the chest) and grab the shield and the cash. I think by now if you train, even your cleric can have level 12 in water, alongside expert dagger and leather. imagine what your paladin and archer can. And if you are lack of cash, with are high level enough (with enough hit point, I mean) to travel to places and FLY straight to obelisk. Disregarding anything else. Just press <enter> almost on top of the obelisk, and fly down, touch it, fly up again, press enter and fly away, or if you have gate master with you, click on the potrait and teleport away. Do this at all the obelisk and 250,000 is yours. If you up tot the challenge, please also do the statue placement in the same time (also fly, go there and <enter>). If there is something that pissed me off (in a sense) - is a randomized shop. I once visit a shop in free haven (while being a low level) and there is TWO +9 sword and TWO +5 dagger. However, for some reason or another, I just remember something and I was like, oh well, load that back up and teleport here again. Guess what, neither weapon was up for sell again, even all the way till now. And also in magic shop. I mean, seriously? It always load teleport, load teleport, load teleport, hoping there will be magic book that i want. Look, if the developer think Llyod Beacon, Teleport and Enchant Item CAN be sold in Free Heaven, then just for whatever sake, make it available instead of having three Enchant Item but no Beacon or Teleport. And of course, specialized bonus item. I think there should be 'Enchant Shop' where you can pay for select enchantments, provided you have the money. Let say if I know 'glove of disarm' exist, and it can help me disarm, instead of teleporting all over Erathia(?) looking for it at shop or cast reload cast reload cast reload, can I just went to a shop, say I want to buy a glove of disarm, and just freaking pay for it? But I guess that the thing with MM6. However read 'Game Programming Architecture' will know this kind of game design is bad. Yes, random can make a game play differently all the time, but you doesn't want to make 'random' can screw a person up, and unable to make any plan or whatever. And if you are lucky to have awesome weapon available early on, then good for you.

This guide to the Shades of Darkness, an expansion of the basic version of Might and Magic: Heroes VI contains:
The walkthrough of both campaigns assumes that you're using the default hero. In case of the Dungeon it's Raelag (Might), while for the Necropolis it's Vein (Might). All missions are balanced with those two in mind, therefore playing with a Magic-oriented hero might be much more difficult and require a different approach to the gameplay.
